Coxamin K
COXAMIN K is a dietary supplement containing highly absorbable calcium derived from calcified red algae named Lithothamnion Calcareum and maximum amounts of natural vitamin K2 and vitamin D3.
Calcium in COXAMIN K: Red algae live in restricted areas around the clean shores of Southwest Ireland and Western Iceland. The life cycle of algae is about four or five years and for this relatively short period, they absorb large amounts of minerals from the sea.
Calcium in COXAMIN K has a unique porous structure similar to the one of the honeycomb. After initial hydration this structure is changed into smooth one. It does not resemble the grain chalk structure, typically associated with the notion of a calcium product. Calcium obtained from Lithothamnion Calcareum is best absorbed by the human body. It is 20% more efficiently absorbed than the calcium in dairy products and about 38% than the tricalcium phosphate.
The optimal absorption is due to the specific structure of the calcium, as in COXAMIN K calcium is available in three polymorphic forms - calcite, aragonite (with orthorhombic structure) and vaterite (with hexagonal structure). Calcium carbonate, for example, consists entirely of calcite and has rhomboid grid shape.
In fact COXAMIN K is not only the best absorbable calcium product, it is a multi-mineral product. COXAMIN K also contains magnesium, boron, copper, manganese, iodine, zinc and many other minerals, their total number is 74.
COXAMIN K and bone density
Various factors affect how much of the calcium that enters the body actually reaches the blood. With aging, for example, the utilization of all the necessary vitamins and minerals becomes more difficult. The status of the bone density is dependent on several elements: vitamin D3 is responsible for the absorption of essential minerals for bones - calcium and phosphorus, and vitamin K2 provides the transport of calcium to the bones.
In the mechanism explaining the synergetic interaction between the three elements - calcium ions, vitamin K2 and vitamin D3, participates vitamin K-dependent protein osteocalcin. Osteocalcin is highly sensitive biochemical indicator of the status of vitamin K which, when is in its active form, stimulates bone formation and density. Vitamin D3, received in the body increases the synthesis of osteocalcin, but if the intake of vitamin K is insufficient the osteocalcin remains inactive (under carboxylated osteocalcin). High levels of under carboxilated osteocalcin are associated with low bone mineral density and thus with higher risk of fractures.
Another protein responsible for bone health is matrix GLA-protein (MGP), which is located in the walls of blood vessels and is required for the "removal" of calcium from arteries and soft tissues, preventing them from calcification (hardening). Vitamin K2 is required also for the activation of this protein, which "removes" calcium from the vessel walls, thereby retains their elasticity, and at the same time supports the delivery of calcium to the bone.
COXAMIN K delivers minerals to the body and the additional vitamins K2 and D3 make these minerals available to the bones.
Why COXAMIN K?
COXAMIN K is a formula thanks to which the physiological cycle for intake and delivery of calcium and other bone minerals is completed. Vitamin K2 and D3 are necessary for optimum absorption of calcium. They are not only a part of the composition of COXAMIN K, but also of the highest quality, natural, and in a maximum quantity.
Boron and zinc plays an important role in the bio vitality of the calcium source. Magnesium minimum, vitamin K2, and vitamin D3 contribute to optimum absorption of calcium in the body.
Vitamin K2 contained in COXAMIN K is in the form of menaquinone-7 (MK7). This has been proven the better form of vitamin K in terms of bioavailability and bioactivity, compared to vitamin K1 or menaquinone-4. Used in COXAMIN K vitamin K is fat soluble MK7, which is natural, obtained by fermentation of B. subtilis natto, and free of any synthetic treatments.
Summary:
- Calcium in COXAMIN K is in a polymorph form which is best for absorption by the body. In addition it naturally contains 74 minerals and trace elements, which promote calcium vitality, and each alone favours the normal mineral balance in the body.
- Vitamin D3 available in COXAMIN K regulates calcium serum levels. Vitamin D3 increases the absorption of the calcium in gastrointestinal tract and reduces the loss of calcium through the kidneys.
- COXAMIN K contains vitamin K2, which is responsible for the correct utilization of the calcium in the body.
- In COXAMIN K is achieved synergy between vitamin D3 and vitamin K2, which are partners in the regulation of calcium metabolism, since many of the benefits of vitamin D3 can be achieved only when the levels of vitamin K2 in the body are sufficient.
- Ingredients of COXAMIN K are of the highest quality, proven by numerous studies and certificates. The active ingredients are of natural origin and in quantities necessary to achieve the efficiency.
- COXAMIN K does not cause constipation, spares the kidneys and does not contain allergens.
